#BE30DayChallenge: Get Your Dream Job

Successful CTOs

If you’ve set out on a mission to secure the job of your dreams sooner than later, your head is likely swimming when just considering what you need to do, when you need to do it, and how you will go about it.

The thing about getting a job is that people make it sound so easy. “Just put yourself out there! Keep trying, and one will stick,” they say. But how? That’s the part they always tend to leave out—that is, until now.

Over the next 30 days, we will focus on what you need to do and how you need to do it, in order to secure the job of your dreams in a mere 30 days.

If you’re scoffing at this idea, you’re already starting off on the wrong foot. The first step is believing. As cliché as it sounds, it’s true. Starting with this very moment, don’t just say you’re going to secure your dream job in 30 days—feel it, believe it, and know it to be true.

Each week, for the next four weeks, we will be posting tangible, ingestible tips on what you need to be doing and who you need to be doing it with, in order to secure your job.

Below is a breakdown of what we’ll be tackling:

Week 1: Define the Job

Oftentimes, we think we know, but we have no idea. Defining precisely what you want to do—and, in some cases, where you want to do it—is the most important step of your search. Knowing what you want to do will help to tailor your resume to compliment your desired position. You’ll be clear on how to utilize your network, and the knowledge will help refine what’s necessary for your “search package,” including portfolios, cover letters, references, and even wardrobe.

Week 2: Tapping Your Network

Now that you know what you want, it’s time to figure out who can help you get it. This week, we’ll comb through all of your many social networks assessing the degrees of separation between who you know, who they know, and how you can get to know who they know.

Week 3: Submit

This is the week that you put yourself all the way out there. Learn the best outlets to use for your industry, how to leverage your existing resources, and how to turn over stones you may not even know exist.

Week 4: Interview Prep

During this week, we’ll decide what to wear to the interview(s), what to take with you, how to sell yourself, what to do immediately following the interview, and how to secure the deal.

Stay tuned—your dream job awaits!
